In 1904, the people of Hamilton, Minnesota renamed their town after Marion Willis Savage — because his racehorse Dan Patch was the greatest athlete in America and had put this place on the map. Dan Patch never lost a race. When racing officials refused to recognize his fastest time, Savage renamed his entire farm “International 1:55 Stock Food Farm” in protest. That stubborn pride is part of what Savage is. Alpha Haulers hauls junk out of it — same day, upfront price, no franchise markup.

Marion Willis Savage bought Dan Patch in 1902 for $60,000 and turned him into the first celebrity athlete in American sports history — his name on cigars, washing machines, sheet music, and sewing machines. In 1904, the people of Hamilton renamed their town in his honor. When Dan Patch ran 1:55 flat at the 1906 Minnesota State Fair and racing officials refused to recognize the time, Savage was so furious he renamed his farm “International 1:55 Stock Food Farm.” Dan Patch died July 11, 1916. Marion Savage died the next day.
The city that carries his name grew from 4,000 people in 1980 to over 32,000 today — mostly in the subdivisions that spread south and west from the river bluffs after Highway 169 opened in 1996. Alpha Haulers serves all of Savage, from the historic Port Cargill corridor along the Minnesota River to the newer neighborhoods off County Road 42. Family-owned, same-day available, upfront pricing every time. Call (651) 373-6627.
The Highway 169 bridge opened in 1996 and Savage exploded. The subdivisions built from the 1980s through the early 2000s — with their 3-car garages, full finished basements, and large lots — are hitting the 25-to-40-year mark. Original owners are downsizing or passing on, and each of those homes holds a generation of accumulation. Alpha Haulers handles the full cleanout in a single visit: basement, garage, attic, shed — everything loaded and gone same day. Call (651) 373-6627.
With a median household income over $122,000 and 51% of adults holding a bachelor’s degree or higher, Savage is one of Scott County’s most affluent communities. Residents here expect professionalism, transparency, and a crew that shows up when it says it will. Alpha Haulers is fully licensed and insured, provides a firm written price before any work starts, and leaves every job site broom-clean. No surprises, no hustle — just a job done right.
Savage borders Burnsville to the northeast and Shakopee to the west — both cities Alpha Haulers already serves. That puts Savage squarely on our existing south metro circuits, which means no out-of-area fees and no long scheduling windows. Whether you’re in the Trout Run neighborhood, near Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, along the County Road 42 corridor, or down by the Minnesota River bluffs, same-day service is typically available. One call handles the whole job.
